2011 / 2012 Garden Committee Volunteers

Gabrielle O’Herlihy, Janette Mooney Nyangiti, Helen Carlisle, Brigid McCaul

The Garden committee meets at 10am on Wednesday mornings.  We meet at the back of the school near the steps down to the garden into the bluebell wood area.  New volunteers are welcome at anytime during the school year.

The garden, which began twenty one years ago, introduces the children, in a practical way, to our environment and the wonders of nature and science.  This garden project is an integral part of the school curriculum and all work is done during the school day.  We aim for the children to come away knowing that they can make a difference to our already fragile world.

All that is required of volunteers is their time, energy and enthusiasm.  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!

If you have any questions please call either Gabrielle 0879849158 or Janette 0877609069 or simply turn up on any Wednesday you are free.

2011 / 2012 Wheat Harvest

The three fourth classes harvested their bumper wheat crop on Wednesday 7th September.  Over the coming weeks they will thresh, winnow and grind the wheat into flour.  They will bake brown bread and it will be served with their own jam made from school Blackberries!!
