We had a great day on 23rd May. Whilst everyone back at school was enjoying a beautiful, sunny Sports’ Day, two wonderful girls from Ms. Pounch’s third class were at The Helix in Dublin City University at the Green School Awards. They accepted a new Green School Flag and Certificate on behalf of our school and we are most grateful to them for representing our school so well.
The Green Flag was awarded for our work in reducing the number of plastic bottles brought to school every day and for monitoring and motivating progress in this effort. Recognition is also given to the curriculum work undertaken by the girls as they learned about plastic and for various other initiatives such as linking with Cabinteely Tidy Towns for litter pick-ups. We extend a big thank you and congratulations to the whole school community for their participation in our projects.
Even though we’ve achieved our flag, we will continue to focus on reducing single use plastics. We will keep you informed about our efforts!

Well done to everyone who walked, carpooled, parked and strode, scooted, cycled or used public transport on our recent WOW Day!
