St. Brigid’s Day

St. Brigid’s Day is a special day around Ireland but we hold it especially dear in our school. We remember this special woman in our school each February and this year was no different. To prepare for the day, many classes made Brigid’s crosses. Some older classes visited younger ones to show them the ancient craft.

Other classes created artwork to portray another famous story of St. Brigid, the story of her cloak covering enough ground to build her famous abbey in Kildare.

On St. Brigid’s Day itself, we all gathered in the hall to sing and discuss our appreciation for Brigid. We were all the more appreciative when Ms. Carroll announced there was no homework for the night!
