Garden Day

Garden Day 2025 – A Celebration of Nature, Community and Learning

One of the most cherished days in our school calendar took place on 13th JuneGarden Day. This special occasion is always eagerly anticipated, and this year was no exception. In the lead-up to the event, the entire school community came together to ensure everything was ready for the big day.

Our Sixth Class pupils took great pride in preparing and presenting their projects, as well as lending their support in the school garden. Their hard work and enthusiasm helped set the tone for a joyful and educational celebration. We are also deeply grateful to our dedicated parent volunteers, who gave generously of their time to help make the garden look its absolute best.

Staff across the school worked tirelessly to ensure that classrooms and shared spaces were beautifully presented for the occasion.

Garden Day was a wonderful success, filled with singing, music and of course, visits to our much-loved garden. It was a pleasure to welcome parents, former parents, past pupils, former staff members, and many other guests. The atmosphere was truly heartwarming.

Our ever-popular cake sale proved a delicious treat, and we were thrilled to host a vibrant stall by members of the Chinese community, which added an extra splash of flavour and culture to the festivities. A special mention goes to Ms Lynch, who prepared delightful elderflower cordial using elderflower harvested from our own school garden.

This year’s Garden Day was particularly poignant, as we bid farewell to Fiona, our beloved garden expert as she passes the torch on. Fiona has played an instrumental role in nurturing our garden and inspiring countless pupils. In her honour, a crab apple tree was planted – a lasting tribute to her dedication and care for nature and native Irish wildlife.

Another special element of the day saw parents visiting classrooms to witness first-hand the wonderful learning and achievements of their daughters over the course of the year. It was a lovely opportunity to share and celebrate the rich educational experiences happening across the school.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making Garden Day 2025 such a memorable, joyful and meaningful occasion. It truly showcased the best of our school community.
