February Update

We began February with St. Brigid’s Day, a very important day in our school calendar. This February was special as we had an extra day with the leap year! St. Brigid’s Day

St. Brigid’s Day is an important day in our school’s annual calendar. It is the feast day for the saint our school is named after. It is also the traditional day when spring starts in Ireland. We remember the lessons Brigid teaches which we can all follow in our daily lives.  Prayer Service Fr. Donal Roche came to give a prayer service to our school. A Time for Giving At St. Brigid’s, we have always appreciated that Christmas is a time of giving and of charity. We were astounded by the generosity of our school community for the different school fundraising initiatives. RTÉ Filming We had such an exciting day when RTÉ filmed their promo commercial for the Late Late Toy Show. Some of our girls got the chance to partake in the filming and it was wonderful to see the advert on the TV afterwards.  STEAM Robotics The school got a wonderful display of robotics from STEAM robotics with the highlight being the robotic dog! RTÉ Filming Day

There was huge excitement at the news that RTÉ had approached the school to film their promo commercial for the Late Late Toy Show. Speer Productions arrived early to set up their cameras and lights. 20 girls had been chosen by lottery to partake as extras in the filming along with other children from outside the school. Look at the ‘behind the scenes’ photos from the day along with a very special announcement from the host himself, Patrick Kielty.  

Halloween Update

For the first time in living memory, there was not one but two dress up days in the days leading to the midterm break! On Thursday, the girls wore their Halloween costumes and on Friday they wore their themed costumes for our fundraiser calendar. Everyone was amazed at the original and realistic array of costumes that came through the doors both days.
